The brain has a capacity to adapt and learn, commonly known as neuroplasticity. Rehabilitation often uses repetition, focused attention and meaningful practice to support learning and adaptation.
Cognitive hypnotherapy may complement appropriate medical and rehabilitation care by supporting relaxation, confidence, motivation, emotional adjustment, guided imagery and mental rehearsal. It should not be presented as repairing brain damage or replacing clinical rehabilitation.
